My sister just bought a Kit doll off eBay a while back.. she sent it off to AG Hospital to get a new head and it was sent back to her with a letter of explination that the doll was a clone.. I have not seen this doll.. my sister Kelly lives 30 min away and I did not see it before she sent it off.. the seller is from Texas, 1st time she called, she told him that she sent the doll to AG and they told her it was not an Authentic Kit, he then called her a liar.. she then called back a 2nd time a few days later and this same man then said he does not know English...WHAT-EVER!!! she has been contacted by several other eBay'ers telling her that she needs to report him because they knew it was not a real doll.. so, now khe has listed another Kit using the same Kit picture up for sale on eBay.. my sisters eBay ID is Kalisa. She did not confer with me prior to bidding, so I was unable to see the picture before she bought it.. you can see the doll has odd colored hair and her eyes are those bug eyes that you can see on my page.. You can go see her auctions and find out who he is.. She has reported him to eBay / Pay Pal. American Girl gave her a letter stating that it is a clone so that she can make her claim. He is knowingly selling these dolls in TX... must be a back alley factory in Mexico pumping these dolls out now..

I am really sorry to hear about the clone doll and how disappointed you must feel. I would hate to have that happen to one of my girls.
I am from TX and want you to know that I speak perfect English and not all are bad done hear...
Maybe you sister can take advantage of purchasing from AG and sending back the cloths and the book...Kit would be cheaper and authentic.
I do feel for her and wish her the best...

Way to go Angie for telling all this! I'm in a couple of Yahoo groups with this very same discussion going. Oh man does it hit close to home now with it being your sister!!! One girl emailed your sister and got all the sordid details from her, poor thing! That's just horrible. Would it be ok to send the link to this thread to my groups so they could read it too?

Angie, I emailed this seller when he had this doll up for auction and told him he was selling a fake doll. I was nice about it and let him know that I thought that he probably wasn't aware that it was a fake but he denied it and sold it anyway. So YES, he was aware of it being fake and obviously didn't care. I will try to see if I can retrieve any email from him. [img]graemlins/grrr.gif[/img]
